Police in Southern district of Kulgam arrested a person following an action against those involved in drug dealings in the area.
A police party of Police Station Qazigund arrested one person during Naka checking for drug supply offences.
Officers seized 12 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession. The individual has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Maliyaar son of Ali Mohamamd Maliyar resident of Danow Kandimarg, D.H. Pora. He has been taken in custody and a case under relevant sections of law stands registered.
Drug dealings in Southern Kashmir have put our community at the risk of harm and eventual criminalization. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers are aimed to end this menace of drug addiction.
