Non-Gazetted Employees Welfare Association (NGEWA) SKIMS on Wednesday demanded release of Syed Shakeel Ahmad Shah, second son of Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahuddin who was arrested by National Investigation Agency from his residence at Rambagh area of Srinagar last month.
Istiyag Beigh President of NGEWA said that Shakeel, senior lab technician at SKIMS Soura, was declared innocent by the former chief minister of the state Mehbooba Mufti and presently he is lodged in NIA custody without any crime. Beigh termed Shakeel’s detention as unjustified.
“Shakeel is the innocent and service rendered by him as the technician at SKIMS is appreciable,” Beigh said and appealed the Governor of the State to intervene in the issue and get him released without any delay.
Meanwhile, EJCC Chairman Aijaz Khan also condemned the arrest of the Syed Shakeel by NIA and demanded his immediate release. (GNS)
